2026 Annual conference

The MCTM Conference is an opportunity for members of the math education community to meet face-to-face and share best practices for teaching and learning.
Conference Date: Friday, October 16, 2026
Deadline to submit proposals: June 30, 2026
Lead presenters notified: by August 1, 2026
Exact location in Frederick County named: After July 1, 2026

Call for proposals

Classroom teachers, math coaches, administrators, math teacher educators, teachers-in-training, and math specialists are encouraged to reflect on this year's theme, From Standards to Student Success: Empowering Every Student for What’s Next, and submit a proposal to speak at this year's event. The deadline to submit your proposal is June 30, 2026. Lead presenters will be notified about the status of their proposal by August 1, 2026 and will be expected to accept their invitation to present and register to attend the conference no later than August 30, 2026.

Using Standards Companion Guides to Support Coherent Grade-Level Instruction

This session provides an overview of the revised PreK-8 Maryland College and Career Ready Standards by highlighting major content shifts and increased clarity around grade-level expectations. Particular attention will be given to the Standards Companion Guides and their role in supporting implementation.

Activate Math! Get Students Moving, Thinking, and Learning
Wednesday, June 10, 5:30-6:30 pm

This webinar explores how movement can transform mathematics instruction, boost student engagement, and rebuild confidence in all learners. Participants will explore ready-to-use kinesthetic strategies and learn practical methods for their integration into daily classroom instruction-thus reframing the mathematics classroom as an enriched environment of engagement and joy.

Summer Academy

The MCTM Virtual Elementary Summer Academy will focus on the Maryland College and Career-Ready Standards, the pedagogy that supports the development of relational understanding, and strategies to support the inclusion of manipulatives and differentiation. Participants will engage in a variety of experiences related to teaching Operations and Algebraic Thinking, and Numbers and Operations- Fractions.  Classes will run from June 22 - June 26 from 9 AM - 4 PM.
