This year we are pleased to announce that we will be sponsoring summer academies for elementary and middle school teachers.

2019 MCTM Summer Academy for Elementary Teachers

This year's MCTM Elementary Summer Academy will focus on the Common Core Standards for Mathematics, the pedagogy that supports the development of relational understanding, and strategies to support the inclusion of manipulatives and differentiation. Participants will engage in a variety of experiences related to teaching of Number & Operations-Fractions and in Base Ten.

The 2019 MCTM Elementary Summer Academy will be held in Anne Arundel County at Severn School Lower School Campus, 1185 Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard, Arnold, MD. Classes will run from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM Monday – Thursday from June 24-27, 2019.

2019 MCTM Summer Academy for Middle School Teachers

The MCTM Middle School Summer Academy is designed to provide current mathematics and/or special education teachers an opportunity to improve content and pedagogical knowledge, as they explore the mathematical standards outlined by the Common Core State Standards for “Ratios and Proportional Relationships” for grades 6-8 and “Functions” for grades 8 and above. Participants will develop a repertoire of differentiated strategies to plan and deliver effective mathematics instruction to divers learners in the middle school classroom.

The 2019 Middle School Summer Academy will be held in Howard County at Burleigh Manor Middle School , 4200 Centennial Lane Ellicott City MD 21042. Classes will take place July 15-19, 2019 from 8:30-3:30 each day.
