MCTM Virtual Elementary Summer Academy 2026
FocusThe MCTM Virtual Elementary Summer Academy will focus on the Maryland College and Career-Ready Standards, the pedagogy that supports the development of relational understanding, and strategies to support the inclusion of manipulatives and differentiation. Participants will engage in a variety of experiences related to teaching Operations and Algebraic Thinking, and Numbers and Operations- Fractions.
The MCTM 2026 Elementary Academy will be held via Zoom. Classes will run daily from 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday from June 22-26 Who may apply?
All Maryland classroom teachers of grades K-5, as well as special education teachers, specialists, interventionists, instructional coaches, administrators, teachers of English language learners (ELLs), and instructional assistants that support classroom teachers with math instruction are invited to apply. |
Why participate?
What is required of participants?
Participants will create two original centers to use in their classroom in the fall, facilitate a number routine, and respond to discussion questions to complete hours for MSDE credits. Cameras must be on during class time. If any part of the summer sessions is missed and/or work is not completed satisfactorily, no credit will be awarded. All work must be completed by September 15, 2026. Credits will be awarded after all coursework has been completed. |

Each applicant must complete this application in full including the $175 registration fee to confirm his/her space. Please note: The registration fee for this course is non-refundable. Should a registered participant find they are no longer able to attend this event, he/she may find a colleague to take his/her place.
