The time has come for the Maryland Council of Teachers of Mathematics to hold elections for positions on the MCTM Board of Directors. This is a great opportunity for you to get involved in the work our organization does to support mathematics education throughout our state while getting to know many wonderful educators who value and are dedicated to high quality math instruction for all students.
According to the MCTM Bylaws, the following position is up for election at this time:

If you are interested in adding your name to the ballot for any of the positions listed above, please complete this Google form by Friday, April 24, 2026. Elections will take place in June, and new positions will begin in October.

- President-Elect (2026-2027)
- Qualifications: A member to be eligible for the office of President-Elect must have served as a voting member on the MCTM Board of Directors.
- Term of Office: The President-Elect shall be elected, beginning with the 2022 election cycle, to a four-year term of office. This person shall serve the first year as President-Elect, the second and third years as President, and the fourth year as Past President.
- Responsibilities: The President-Elect shall:
- Assume the duties of the President in the absence of the President
- Serve as a voting member on the Board of Directors
- Serve on the Executive Committee
- Perform other duties as requested by the President
- Assume the duties of the President in the absence of the President
- Qualifications: A member to be eligible for the office of President-Elect must have served as a voting member on the MCTM Board of Directors.
