Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 5:30-6:30 MSDE Standards Shift Join representatives from the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) Mathematics Branch as they provide an overview of significant shifts associated with the new Maryland Prek-12 Mathematics Policy, adopted on March 25, 2025. A classroom timeline for implementation will be described, as well the policy's goal of catalyzing improvements to teaching, learning, and achievement in mathematics across all grades in Maryland.

To provide access to students from diverse backgrounds, JSEP created math curricula using the van Hiele model. This tiered approach advances learning by providing multiple entry points for lessons.
